Five Points Gallery 2nd Juried Exhibition: 
Thursday, August 3 - Saturday, September 2, 2017

Five Points Gallery is accepting submissions for its biennial juried exhibition. This prominent Connecticut exhibition will showcase the recent work of emerging and established artists.  Up to 3 works in all media will be accepted.
 
ABOUT: In support of the many amazing visual artists working today, Five Points is proud to announce the establishment of a biennial juried call. Every two years, Five Points will offer artists, working in any style and media, the opportunity to showcase their most recent works. Accepted pieces will be on exhibit in the three beautifully remodeled Five Points Gallery spaces. The one award will be a solo exhibition in Five Points.
Exhibition Dates: Thursday, August 3 - Saturday, September 2, 2017
Reception & Award: Friday, August 4 - 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

​Juror: 
​Joe Fig is an artist and the author of the acclaimed Inside the Painter's Studio and Inside the Artist’s Studio. He has been a Guest Lecture and Visiting Artist at over twenty-five Institutions  and is the Head of Fine Arts/ Visual Studies at Ringling College of Art and Design. Joe earned his BFA and MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, New York. His work can be found in numerous museums and leading private collections including the Parrish Museum,  Norton Museum, New Museum and the Fogg Museum.  He is represented by Cristin Tierney Gallery in New York.

​DATES:  
  • APRIL 7 -   Submissions begin on CaFE
  • JUNE 18, 11:59 p.m. - Deadline for submissions on CaFE   
  • JULY 7  - Notification July 7th on CaFE and Five Points Gallery
  • JULY 28 -  Deadline for receiving shipped artwork
  • JULY 30 - Selected works due at Five Points  9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.        
  • AUGUST - 4  - Opening Reception, 6 -8:30 p.m. Award Presentation 7:00 p.m.              
  • SEPTEMBER 2 - Exhibition Closes at 5:00 p.m.
  • SEPTEMBER 3 - Pick-up of all work 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • SEPTEMBER 5 - All works with pre-paid shipping sent back to artists.


ELIGIBILITY: Emerging and established artists 18 years or older may apply. Original works in all media and not previously exhibited in Five Points.

ENTRY FEE: A $35.00 entry fee will be charged for up to three works. VISA, Discover, MasterCard or American Express will be accepted through the CaFE website.

SUBMISSIONS: Five Points will only accept submissions through CaFE. CaFE is an online application and jury management system for calls for entry. Visit www.callforentry.org and click on HOW to APPLYand follow the 3 – step process to submit. Entries submitted via email or by direct mail will not be considered

GUIDELINES:                  
  • Up to three works per artist may be submitted.
  • A maximum of one work per artist will be selected.
  • Work requiring assembly or a complex installation procedure must be accompanied by detailed written instructions with reference photos. 
  • Artists working in new media, film, or video will be required to provide necessary exhibition equipment.
  • Two-dimensional work must be ready for installation.
  • All artwork must be for sale and cannot be removed during the exhibition.
  • The gallery commission on sales is 50%. 10 % of gallery's profit will be donated to the Susan B Anthony Project.

SELECTED ARTWORK:
  • Selected works must be delivered ready to hang/install.
  • Artwork misrepresented or considered unsuitable for presentation will be refused.

​DELIVERY AND SHIPPED ARTWORK:
  • Deadlines for delivered and shipped works are firm.
  • Delivery of accepted pieces will only be received during the stated days/hours.
  • All work should be labeled with the artist’s name, telephone number, title of work, date  medium and dimensions.
  • All work must be packaged in a manner that allows the materials to be re-used for return.
  • Any work not picked up on the stated date cannot be stored and will be disposed of as  deemed appropriate by the gallery.
  • In the case of inadequate or nonexistent return postage, works cannot be stored and will be disposed ofas deemed appropriate by the gallery.

AGREEMENT: Five Points reserves the right to photograph an accepted work for publication and publicity purposes.
